For our sustainability project we chose for a concept that would keep the students in mind who can’t afford take away every day. So that’s how we came up with the idea of Cheapt. Cheapt stands for, cheap and eat. The main objective here is to offer a meal at a cheap price to Artevelde students. We would offer the leftover of Monday and Tuesday and sell them at half price on Wednesday. All the profit we would make would go to Poverello, an organization which cares about the poor people who are in need of a meal or shelter.

Our project doesn’t only focus on the meal aspect but would also bring people together. We found a creative way to achieve this. In the canteen where the project would take place, we would put music instruments. That way students are able to play an instrument and create an enjoyable atmosphere.

To create this beautiful project our group send emails to the Dean of Artevelde, we had a meeting with personal of the canteen, with Sodexo. During this meeting everything was discussed, how much we would have to pay for the use of the canteen, leftovers,… We even send emails to the city of Ghent to ask them if we could use their instruments.
