Exam preparation
Module 4 was about our expectation on the coming exams. We did a trial exam during the course of Banking & Finance. Here we did a reflection on in class. Also 2 second year students came to class to answer our questions we had about the exams.
Exam questions:
My exam questions for the second year students:
1) Which courses do you really need to be attentive to?
2) Which courses take the most time and effort to study?
3) On your exam, what is the best strategy to follow for answering the questions?
Trial exam
To have a little bit of preparation on how we could expect the exams in a higher education course we we're able to make a trial exam. During the lessons of Banking & Finance we made one, and here you can read my reflection on that test.
I thought the exam was going to be less in detail, I found out that there was more asked then I knew. Although I didn't really study for this trial exam I found out that without learning you will not have a chance to succeed. You recall some information but most part is in the details. The answers I could choose from were all pretty much the same, the answers were different due to details. So when I made my trial exam I thought it was going pretty well, but in fact I was not doing that great. I know that stress will not be an impact on my score, because I am normally very stress resistant.
Because of this trial exam I know I will have to work faster because I didn't have any time to reread, I finished right on time. I have always had struggles with concentrating for a long period on time. That's why I have to read a question several times before I actually understand the question. For my exam I will definitely use ear plugs, in the weeks after the trial exam when studying I discovered that learning with ear plugs improves my concentration.
When correcting the exam you could obviously see that I didn't make any exercises. This learns me that I will have to make them and not only focus on the theoretical aspect of the course.
